In New Mexico, Judge Drew Tatum sentenced George Gutierrez, 39, of Clovis, to 21 years in prison.

On June 25, 2023, Clovis police responded to a home for a report of sexual assault.

The victim told police Gutierrez had been sexually assaulting her since she had been 8 or 9 years old.

Gutierrez admitted to police he knew what he did was wrong, but could not stop himself.

He’s charged with three counts of sexual penetration (child under 13) and three counts of 3 counts of sexual penetration (position of authority), 5 counts of sexual contact of a minor (child under 13), and 2 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.  The victim spoke at the trial.

Judge Tatum called Gutierrez’s actions cowardly.
