CoA Parks and Rec Giving Out Bare Root Seedling Trees

The City of Amarillo’s Parks and Recreation Department is teaming up with area neighborhood groups to provide bare root seedling trees for the community.

Parks and Rec along with the North Heights, Eastridge, Barrio and San Jacinto advisory boards will be handing out the seedling trees free of charge as part of the Apache Tree Grant Program.

In its 15th year of the program, 4.7 million trees have been sent out across 17 states.

Tree seedlings will be available on March 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m at John Stiff Memorial Park and the Rick Klein Sports Complex.

And on March 6th from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. Bones Hooks Park, Eastridge Park, San Jacinto Park and El Alamo Park.

Each carload is eligible for up to five seedlings while supplies last.
