Congress In Recess Over Protest Crowds

The U.S. Capitol is on lockdown and the House and Senate are in recess as thousands of President Trump supporters pushed past barricades and are protesting on the steps of Congress.

Some protesters have managed to get inside Congress. The Cannon House Office Building and Madison Library of Congress Building are being evacuated because of a bomb threat.

Police are trying to keep them back for now. Members of Congress were working to certify the results of the presidential election. That certification has been put on hold.
