Councilwoman Freda Powell Seeking Reelection for 2021

Amarillo City Councilwoman Freda Powell announces her bid for re-election to a third term as Place two representative on the City Council.

Powell says she wants to take care of the City’s assets, such as the Civic Center and parks and pledges to bring all citizens together to build teams, workplaces and greater communities of people who are ‘All In’ for Amarillo.

In 2017 Powell became the first African-American woman to be elected to the Amarillo City Council.

She was re-elected in 2019 and has served a year in the rotating position of Mayor Pro Tem acting in the absence of the Mayor as needed
