Don Powell Announces Run for AISD Board of Trustees

Former Chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Don Powell has announced he would be running for the Amarillo Independent School District Board of Trustees.
Powell is a life-long Amarillo resident and Palo Duro High School graduate and was President and CEO of First National Bank of Amarillo before being appointed to the FDIC by President George W Bush in 2001.
Powell said. “I believe the most important job I can do at this stage in my life is to support them and all of the wonderful teachers, administrators, coaches, and others who, like my sister, invest their talents into our next generation of leaders.”
Early voting for the election begins on April 19 and continues through April 27 Election Day is May 1.
