Drugs Found In Shoes Sent To Local TDCJ Unit

Drugs were found hidden in shoes mailed to a prison facility in Childress.

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice, mail room clerks at the T.L. Roach Unit received a package containing a pair of shoes on January 24th.

During a search of the package, TDCJ said 76 grams of a green leafy substance, believed to be K2, and five pills, suspected to be oxycodone, were found inside the soles of the shoes.

The prison administration got a tip that someone was sending drugs to two inmates at the facility.
