This is KGNC’s tribute to America’s Black History… I’M Chuck Williams

On February 2nd, Rernest Just became the first recipient of the NAACP’s Spingarn Medal.

Other notables in African-American history Include Robert Morris, Sr, a gifted trial lawyer.

When he was 25 years old Morris took over the lead in the case of Sarah Roberts. She was denied entry into a Boston School because of her race.

Morris and his legal partner Charles Sumner, lost the case in a legal challenge.

More than a century later, the legal challenge foreshadowed the success of Brown versus the Board of Education.

Morris was born in 1823 and died in 1882

With this spotlight on Black History Month, I’m Chuck williams for KGNC News
