Fatal Crash in Wheeler County

An Ohio man has died after a crash on Interstate 40 in Wheeler County on Thursday Night.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety Robert Leightly, of Marion, Ohio, was traveling eastbound in front of a semi on a motorcycle.

The semi began to pass in the left lane and for unknown reasons, Leightly swerved into the semi’s front bumper.

The motorcycle went under the semi and came to a stop in the center median. 

Leightly was transported to the hospital in Shamrock where he died from his injuries.

The crash is still under investigation by Texas DPS.
