Fentanyl distribution in the Panhandle is running at a high rate.

The Potter County District Attorney agrees the drug is running rampant in this area.

Under House Bill 6, if someone dies from a fentanyl overdose, the distributor can be charged with murder, and law enforcement says the drug is made to kill people.

Under the bill, the dealer can be charged with murder. and lawmakers are hoping this makes people take a look at what they’re doing and perhaps take a step back and do something different.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has allowed 60,000 additional units of Narcan, be distributed statewide to Texas police departments.

The drug can be found at pharmacies such as Walgreens and CVS, and the average price is around $45 for a two-pack.
