A former Pampa Coach is behind bars for having a sexual relationship with a student in Brownwood.

The Pampa Police Department was notified of a report of a possible sexual assault and an inappropriate relationship between an educator and student. The department’s Criminal Investigations Division then began an investigation and notified Pampa Independent School District Administration of the allegations.

On August 6th, the Gray County Grand Jury was presented the case and issued indictments on the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Andy Lopez.

 Lopez was indicted on two counts of sexual assault and one count of improper relationship between educator and student.

He was located in Brown, Texas on August 9 and was taken into custody and booked into the Brown County Jail.

Lopez is the former Pampa High head soccer coach and his bond amounts for the three charges total $450,000.
