Greinke Will Start Tonight
(Houston, TX) — The Astros will open a three-game home series tonight with Zack Greinke starting the opener against the Angels. Greinke is 6-and-1 with a 3.10 ERA in eight starts since being acquired in a July trade with Arizona. After the weekend series with Los Angeles, the Astros will play their final six regular season games on the road. The Astros clinched a playoff berth on Wednesday with their 100th victory.

Stars Rally To Top Avalanche In Denver
(Denver, CO) — Michael Mersch and Scottie Upshall scored third period goals as the Dallas Stars rallied to defeat the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 in Denver in their third preseason game. Mavs Sign Japanese Star Baba
(Dallas, TX) — The Mavs signed Japanese national team star guard Yuadai Baba. He played on the Stars’ summer league squad in Vegas. He helped Alvark Tokyo win their second straight B. League championship and was named the MVP Final. With Baba signing, the Dallas training camp roster is set at 20 players. The Mavericks will tipoff their preseason schedule on October 8th against the Thunder in Tulsa.
FC Dallas To Host NYC FC Sunday
(Frisco, TX) — FC Dallas will host MLS Eastern Conference-leader NYC FC on Sunday at Toyota Stadium. Dallas played to a nil-nil draw on Wednesday with the Sounders in Seattle. Dallas is 9-1-and-5 at home, compared to 3-10-and-3 on the road. Dallas is seventh in the MLS West with 44 points, the same as San Jose. Portland is one point behind, while the LA Galaxy checks in with 45 and Real Salt Lake with 46 in a dogfight for playoff berths and seedings.
Unbeatens SMU, TCU Meet Tomorrow
(Fort Worth, TX) — SMU is off to a 3-and-0 start for the first time since 1984. The Ponies won their first four that year, a feat they will try to duplicate when they play Saturday at rival TCU in the Battle for the Iron Skillet. The Frogs are also unbeaten, coming off a 34-14 victory at Purdue. TCU has won the last seven matchups against SMU, scoring at least 42 points in five of them.
