Rangers Going With Lynn Tonight

(Arlington, TX) — Lance Lynn will try to win his 14th game tonight as he starts for the Rangers to open a three-game series against the Tigers at Globe Life Park. Lynn is 13-and-6 with a 3.83 ERA and has pitched at least six innings in 17 consecutive starts. Rookie left-hander Tyler Alexander will start for Detroit. Astros Turn Back Indians

(Cleveland, OH) — George Springer led off the game with a home run, drew threw walks and scored three times in the Astros’ 7-1 win over the Indians in Cleveland. Michael Brantley, Alex Bregman, who hit his 27th homer, and Yordan Alvarez each drove in a pair of runs. Gerrit Cole allowed one run over seven innings to win his ninth straight decision since a May 22nd loss. The Astros are 11-and-3 in their last 14 games.

Cowboys Wrap Up Padded Practice

(Oxnard, CA) — The defense came up big as the Cowboys competed their third day of padded practice in Oxnard. In a two-minute drill, Dak Prescott’s fourth down pass was incomplete. Brett Maher made five-of-six field goal attempts, the miss was a 36-yarder. The Cowboys will play the 49ers on August 10th in San Francisco to kickoff their preseason.

Fans Watch Texans Practice

(Houston, TX) — The Texans held their first open practice to the fans. It was a padded workout for the second straight day with the players battling the Houston heat. Deshaun Watson threw a touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins. Former Rockets head coach Jeff Van Gundy attended the practice. The Texans will hold joint practices Monday and Tuesday with the Packers in Green Bay.

Broncos Beat Falcons In HoF Game

(Canton, OH) — The Broncos scored a late touchdown on fourth down to beat the Falcons 14-10 in the NFL’s Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. Juwann Winfree caught a 15-yard tipped jump ball in the end zone with 1:26 left to put Denver in front. Brett Rypien  threw the winning pass. The Hall of Fame Class of 2019 will be inducted tomorrow.

Longhorns, Aggies Ranked In Coaches Poll

(Undated) — Texas is ranked 10th and Texas A&M 11th in the preseason Coaches’ Poll. The Longhorns went 10-and-4 last season and beat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. The Aggies won their last four to finish at 9-and-4. They are the only Texas teams ranked in the top 25. Clemson, Alabama, Georgia and Oklahoma are the top four in that order.

Bears Open Training Camp Today

(Undated) — Baylor will try to take that next step as the Bears open football practice today in Waco. Baylor went from a one-win team in 2017 to 7-and-6 and a Texas Bowl victory in its second season under head coach Matt Rhule. Baylor kicks off the season on August 31st at home against Stephen F. Austin. Other area colleges opening camp this week include Texas A&M, Texas, Texas Tech, TCU, North Texas and SMU.

Wings Home Tonight update

(Arlington, TX) — The Dallas Wings snapped a six-game losing streak by beating the New York Liberty 87-64 in Arlington. Five Wings scored in double-figures led by Arike Ogunbowale’s 22 points. The Wings will host the Las Vegas Aces tomorrow night. The Wings are 6-and-15 in the WNBA.
