Get Fit Store Set To Host Mayor’s Half Marathon Benefiting The Bridge Children Advocacy Center

 An Amarillo tradition returns this week.

The Mayor’s Half Marathon, benefitting The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center will take place on Saturday, September 21st at 7:30 am.

 This year’s event is hosted by Get Fit, the only locally owned specialty running store located at 1911 South Georgia street.

The run takes place during the 10-year anniversary event for Get Fit and during the Wolflin Square Fall Festival.  There will be live music including Nelson Page and Gary Wayne, Mike Fuller and the Repeat Offenders, Broken Echo at various times throughout the day in front of the store.

Pondaseta Brewing Company will be serving KA RUN Run beer and a variety of food trucks will be on-site, and there will be a photo booth, corn hole, and a kid zone, too.

 The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center celebrates its 30th anniversary and was Texas’ first Children’s Advocacy Center. 

 The Bridge has provided child-sensitive services to more than 25,000 young victims and their families residing in the Texas Panhandle. The child advocacy center provides the victim and their families with information and services so that the crime will not define their life.
