Grapevine Man Dead After Rollover Near Channing On Wednesday

One man is dead after a rollover Wednesday in Oldham County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says just after 4 pm, 32-year-old Derek Cameron of Grapevine, Texas was traveling northbound on US 385 near Channing when he attempted to pass a vehicle in a no pass zone.
When he tried to avoid hitting oncoming traffic, he drove his 1998 Chevrolet pickup into a ditch, overcorrected and rolled over.
Cameron was pronounced dead at the scene, and passenger, 32-Matthew Dault, was transported to a local hospital in stable condition with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
