With the recent increase in drugs and vaping devices on school campuses, Hereford ISD has taken steps to assure campuses there are free from the problem.

HISD is partnering with the police department to assist in the effort. What’s more, the Hereford Police Department has recently added a new weapon in that fight, a K9 unit featuring Koki, who has already proven invaluable in the past couple months.

Koki has been involved with multiple drug arrests, removing a wide variety of dangerous drugs out of Hereford.

The first time a student is caught with a vape on school campus in Hereford, he or she will be sent to an alternative school for 25 days.

The goal is to deter students from bringing drugs or vapes to school, cutting down on overall use for kids.
