High-speed Chase Ends With the Recovery of a Stolen Vehicle

Three people are in the hospital after leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle.

At 2:00 a.m. an officer with the Memphis Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the vehicle sped away on US Highway 287.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office joined the pursuit.

Authorities lost sight of the vehicle and the chase was called off.

One hour later the Hall County 911 Center received a call from three individuals claiming that they were in the chased vehicle and were forced out at gunpoint on County Road I.

Deputies believed that the three people who called 911 were the fleeing suspects.

The vehicle was later located abandoned in a field and was found to be stolen out of Potter County.

The three individuals were taken to the Childress Regional Medical Center and the case is still under investigation.
