Holiday Closure Schedule

City of Amarillo

City Hall will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and open for regular hours on December 26th.

There will be no meeting of Amarillo City Council on Tuesday.

Council Connect is scheduled for Tuesday January 7 at 5:30 p.m. at Amarillo Downtown Library, 413 S.E. Fourth Ave. Councilmembers Elaine Hays and Freda Powell will be in attendance.

For waste/trash pickup, residential service will operate on a normal schedule for the week of Christmas. For commercial service, Wednesday (Christmas Day) routes will be serviced on Thursday (Dec. 26). The landfill will be closed on Christmas Day.

All locations for Amarillo Public Library will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Transit Service (Bus Service) will operate on a Saturday schedule on Christmas Eve (Tuesday, Dec. 24). There is no transit service on Christmas Day.

City of Canyon

Offices for the City of Canyon will close at noon Monday, Dec. 23 and remain closed through Wednesday, Dec. 25. Regular hours will resume Thursday, Dec. 26. Offices will also be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1.

The trash schedule for the week of Christmas is as follows:

Monday, Dec. 23: Regular trash service
Tuesday, Dec. 24: Commercial service only (no residential)
Wednesday, Dec. 25: No trash service
Thursday, Dec. 26: Wednesday trash routes (roll-out containers) and Thursday trash routes
Friday, Dec. 27: Regular Trash Service

Dumpsters will be available on Village Drive and Hunsley Hills Boulevard for residents living in Hunsley Hills, Gagestone and Madison Park to provide for trash that needs to be disposed of outside of the holiday schedule.

Texas Department of Public Safety

The Texas Department of Public Safety offices including Drivers License will be closed on Monday, December 23 thru Thursday December 26 for the upcoming holiday.
