Despite The HooDoo festival being a little more than a week away, national artists are already descending on Amarillo to scout out their potential canvasses.
As part of a citywide beautification collaboration between artists and business owners, 21 murals will be painted and produced.
Amarillo residents and visitors can see the murals’ progress in real time throughout the week.
Two muralists from Seattle are already at work. They’re working on a mural that will eventually go on the Acts Community Center, a non-profit helping senior citizens.
The goal of the festival this year is to highlight the local aspect of Amarillo while appreciating unusual art.
