Increase In Online Learning During Pandemic

Charter schools and schools that offer online learning are saying they are seeing an increase in enrollments since the Pandemic and especially now that some area school districts have done away with virtual learning.
The Charters and online schools are seeing the enrollment jump of students making the transition from public schools.
Aaron Phillips, President of the Amarillo Education Association this could be a cause of teachers losing their jobs.
The TEA says they have provided anticipated funding to schools despite their enrollment., but it’s going to change after January if a waiver is not extended and public schools will see a lack of funding for those students and that will come out of budgets for that year which is going to equal teacher’s on tracts.
