Indictment Handed Down On Suspect In SWAT Standoff

The man arrested last month after a standoff with  SWAT has been indicted.

49-year-old Steven Young is charged with Deadly Conduct Discharge of a Firearm.

Officers were called to the Treepoint Meadows apartments on a shots fired call on Sunday, October 20th.

When authorities tried to make contact at the apartment, they heard what they believed were two more shots. 

APD’s Critical Incident Response Team was activated and surrounded apartment.

Negotiators tried to contact the suspect by phone and with a loudspeaker but were unsuccessful.

A short time later a male came out and surrendered to the officers.
