An Amarillo man is facing jail time after entering a plea of guilty to stabbing his father to death.

30-year-old Felipe Rojas Jr.was arrested for the crime in August of 2018  after his father was found dead with stab wounds in his upper body, neck, and face at a home on North Taylor Street.

Rojas Jr. was located at Northwest Texas Hospital on the day of the stabbing with a wound they say came while he tried to kill his father.

Rojas Jr. was sentenced to five years in prison.
