The Lockdown of three Amarillo schools has been lifted.

The Amarillo Independent School District lockdown the campuses after a report of shots being heard in a neighborhood near Palo Duro High School.

After a recommendation from the  Amarillo Police Department, the all-clear was given to all three schools.

AISD  officials do not believe there is any immediate danger to Palo Duro High School, Park Hills Elementary and Hamlet Elementary and the lockdown was a precautionary move while police investigate the situation.

The district says that students were safe and remained in their classrooms or in the area they were in at the school when the lockdown was implemented.
