Manhunt Puts Amarillo Schools into Temporary Lockout

One man is in jail after a manhunt on Friday morning.
The Amarillo Police Department received a call about a stolen vehicle in the area of 45th and Western Street.
Officers located the vehicle which, lead to a pursuit.
The suspect 26-year-old Cody James Hayden abandoned the vehicle and took off on foot running towards Buffalo Trail.
After a brief manhunt, police were able to take the suspect into custody.
Due to this incident, the Amarillo Independent School District placed surrounding schools into a temporary lockout.
Hayden was booked into the Randall County Jail.
