Mayoral Recount Costs

Taxpayers will be paying for just about half the cost of the recount ballots from the last Mayoral race
Challenger Claudette Smith wanted the recount and placed a deposit of 45-Hundred dollars.
The vote tally on election night and after the recount showed Mayor Ginger Nelson won the top spot.
The financial tally was released on Wednesday. It also shows that Smith owes another 15-hundred dollars to cover expenses allowed by state law.
The taxpayer cost comes to 59 hundred dollars for the rest of the recount costs.
