A movie music expert is coming to West Texas A and M Iis coming to West Texas A and M Univerity as part of its Distinguished Lecture Series.

Doctor Jacqueline Avila will discuss Nostalgia in Contemporary Mexican Media at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 in the Blackburn Reading Room of the Cornette Library.

She has researched film music, sound, and the intersections of identity, tradition, and modernity in the music cultures of Mexico, Latin America, and the U.S. Hispanic community.

Dr. Avila is now studying transnationalism, nostalgia and cultural identity in film and musical cultures on the U S and Mexico borders.

The event is open to the public and free of charge.
