Prescott Sharp In Cowboys’ Preseason Opener

Texans Preparing For Lions

(Houston, TX) — Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson threw a touchdown pass to Make-A-Wish guest Ethan Hughes, a 17-year-old diagnosed with leukemia, in practice. Hughes joined Watson at the podium for his post-practice press conference. The Texans were in full pads for the second straight day as they prepare for a Saturday game with the Lions in Houston. Bradley Roby made an interception to highlight the defense. Wide receiver DeAndre Carter practiced for the second straight day after being removed from the physically unable to perform list.

Kevin Harvick Wins NASCAR At Michigan

(Brooklyn, MI) — Kevin Harvick is going home with his second win of the NASCAR season. Harvick had enough fuel to hold on for the win at the Consumers Energy 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Denny Hamlin finished second while Kyle Larson placed third. Martin Truex Junior and Daniel Suarez rounded out the top five. Kyle Busch finished just outside the top five in sixth. After the race, Harvick celebrated by taking his son for a ride in his car and doing a burnout.

Reed Wins The Northern Trust

(Jersey City, NJ) — Patrick Reed carded a two-under 69 in Sunday’s final round to win The Northern Trust in Jersey City by one stroke. Reed finished at 16-under-par for the tournament to earn his first PGA Tour win since the 2018 Masters. Abraham Ancer was second at 15-under, while Jon Rahm and Harold Varner the Third tied for third at minus-15.

WT Football Announces Fall Practice Schedule

(Canyon, Texas) – West Texas A&M Head Football Coach Hunter Hughes announced today that the Buffs will open their 2019 fall camp on Tuesday, Aug. 13, with a 1 p.m. practice. With school beginning on Aug. 26, practices will switch to 8 a.m. for the remainder of the season and subject to change. The Buffs open their 2019 season Sept. 7 when they host Azusa Pacific at 6 p.m. in the inaugural game at Buffalo Stadium.

TCU QB Right Foot In Medical Boot

(Fort Worth, TX) — TCU quarterback Mike Collins wore a medical boot on his right foot during the team’s first fall scrimmage on Saturday. Frogs head coach Gary Patterson said it is too early to know the extent of the injury. That is the same foot Collins hurt to cut short his 2018 season. Kansas State transfer Alex Delton is getting most of the reps with the first team in Collins’ absence.
