Monday Sports Update – Sod Poodles Wrap Up Road Schedule Win A Win
(North Little Rock, Arkansas) – Following a shutout win on Saturday night, the Sod Poodles continued their stellar work on the mound in Sunday’s action, cruising past the Arkansas Travelers 5-2 in the rubber game of a three-game series. Amarillo’s win came in the final road game of the 2019 regular season and finished a six-game road trip. The Sod Poodles will complete the regular season schedule with an eight-game homestand beginning tonight at 7 in HODGETOWN.
Astros Bring Down Angels
(Houston, TX) — Josh Reddick drove in three runs and the Astros scored seven runs in the eighth inning to thrash the Angels 11-2 in Houston. Martin Maldonado and Jose Altuve contributed two-run homers to the win. Framber Valdez labored through six innings, walking five, hitting two batters, striking out eight and yielding one run over six innings to pick up the victory. Houston has won four in a row and seven of eight.
Rangers Manage Only One Hit In Loss
(Chicago, IL) — Reynaldo Lopez threw five no-hit innings before a stomach virus shut him down in the White Sox 5-0 victory over the Rangers in Chicago. Four relievers limited Texas to one hit over the final two innings. Shin-Soo Choo singled to lead off the sixth for the Texas hit. Rookie lefty Brock Burke took the loss, allowing a run on two hits over six innings. The Rangers dropped to 26-and-41 in road games.
Minor Will Start Tomorrow Night
(Anaheim, CA) — Left-hander Mike Minor will start tomorrow night for the Rangers, who continue this trip with a two-game series against the Angels in Anaheim. The Angels roughed up Minor for a season-high seven runs on 10 hits in a start last week. The Angels will counter with Andrew Heaney.

Cowboys Shut Out Texans In Dress Rehearsal
(Arlington, TX) — The Cowboys demolished the Texans 34-0 in the third preseason game on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium. The Dallas defense dominated, allowing Houston to cross midfield once and forcing four turnovers. Texans’ Miller Out For Season With Torn ACL
(Houston, TX) — Texans’ running back Lamar Miller is out for the season with a torn ACL. Miller suffered the season-ending injury in Saturday’s 34-0 preseason loss to the Cowboys. Miller ran for 973 yards in 2018, the third straight season he led Houston in rushing. The Texans recently acquired running back Duke Johnson will receive the bulk of the carries with Miller out. The Texans will conclude preseason play on Thursday against the LA Rams at NRG Stadium.
Colts Won’t Recoup Money From Luck
(Indianapolis, IN) — The Colts are letting retiring quarterback Andrew Luck keep nearly 25-million-dollars. Multiple outlets report Indianapolis could have recouped 24.8-million-dollars in bonus money but reached a settlement with the QB last week that allows him to keep it. The 29-year-old Luck abruptly retired on Saturday after seven NFL seasons. He was the top pick in 2012 out of Stanford.

McIlroy Wins Tour Championship, FedEx Cup
(Atlanta, GA) — Rory McIlroy is celebrating his second career FedExCup title after winning the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. McIlroy fired a four-under 66 in Sunday’s final round to beat Xander Schauffele by four strokes. McIlroy joins Tiger Woods as the only two-time FedExCup winners since it began in 2007. He takes home a record prize of 15-million-dollars.

(Frisco, TX) — FC Dallas ripped the Houston Dynamo 5-1 yesterday at Toyota Stadium. Zdenek Ondrasek scored two goals for Dallas, while Reto Ziegler, Jesus Ferreira and Michael Barrios each tallied one. Dallas moved into the seventh slot in the MLS West with 40 points. Louisiana Crushes Curacao In LLWS Championship
(Williamsport, PA) — Louisiana is celebrating its first-ever Little League World Series championship. The kids from River Ridge, Louisiana crushed Curacao 8-0 in Sunday’s title game. They are also the first team ever to win the championship after losing their first game in Williamsport. Sunday was their sixth straight victory overall.
