More Amarillo Police Hit Streets For Holiday Weekend

The Amarillo Police Department will increase patrols during the Labor Day weekend to prevent speed, seatbelt and alcohol-related violations.

A Comprehensive STEP (selective traffic enforcement program) grant from the Texas Department of Transportation will allow for extra officers on patrol to enforce traffic laws during the busy holiday weekend.

Both grant-funded and regular patrol officers will be out in the community starting today until Monday morning
