SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk says the Starship being tested in Boca Chica Beach, Texas could be on its way to Mars as soon as 2024.
Musk was being interviewed by a German media company on Tuesday when he was asked about the timeline for his company’s first mission to Mars.
Musk said he definitely believes that the Starship will be on its way to the Red Planet by 2026 but could do so by 2024 if the company is lucky.
A Starship prototype is awaiting final approval from federal regulators to make a 50-thousand-foot hop this week.
