As of December 2020, Kent Martin is the newly appointed Chairman to the United Sorghum Checkoff Program (USCP).
Martin is from Northwest Oklahoma where he runs a small Angus Cross cow-calf herd and grows various small grain crops. His background ranges from working as a University Researcher and Extension Specialist, Consulting Folks on Agricultural Legal Matters, Creating Experimental Designs for Researchers to running that family farm.
Speaking on his interest in the USCP Board, Martin says giving producers a voice in a world that is removed from agriculture is important, and 2021 is a year he is looking forward to with the organization.
