Newcomer Found Guilty in the 2018 Shooting of an APD Officer

The Randall County Criminal District Attorney’s Office has obtained two convictions against an Amarillo man on Friday, December 13th.
Dylan Forest Newcomer was found guilty by a jury for Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant with a Deadly Weapon.
In August of 2018 Newcomer was found burglarizing a business by the Amarillo Police Department. He then fled on foot and shot one of the officers.
Police returned fire, shooting Newcomer multiple times.
The punishment phase of Newcomer’s trial began on Monday morning.
