Newcomer Sentenced to 48 Years

A District Judge has sentenced Dylan Newcomer of Amarillo to 48 years in prison.
In August of 2018 Newcomer was discovered burglarizing a business. When he fled on foot he turned and shot an Amarillo Police Officer.
On Friday he was found guilty for Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer with a deadly weapon.
During the sentencing hearing, 18 witnesses were called to testify about Newcomer’s history and provide evidence about his six prior felony convictions.
