One Person Dead Two Injured In US 287 Crash
One person has died and two others were injured after a wreck involving a semi and a pickup truck Wednesday afternoon on US 287 six miles north of Stradford.
The Department of Public Safety states that 50-year old Jose Lopez-Porras of Stanford was driving a 2001 Ford F250 southwest on County Road 3 approaching US 287.
Lopez-Porras failed to yield the right of way and attempted to cross over 287 into the path of a 2020 Kenworth driven by 30-year-old Emilio Enriguez Jr. of Amarillo.
The semi hit the driver side door of the pickup killing Lopez-Porras and injuring his passenger 52-year-old Jesus Tarango, of Stratford.
The semi driver was transported to Moore County Hospital in Dumas with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the ford was not wearing a seat belt and the DPS is still investigating the crash.
