The Panhandle Community Services has a programtohelp low income households pay their water bills.
The program is temporarily funded with 700,000 dollars until March of 2023, but PCS wants to keep it and use the money from the Festival of Trees to keep it going.
PCS officials say this is the first of its kind, and the event raises flexible spending dollars and can be used where needed to fill federal funding gaps.
They go on to say they receive about 75 calls a day from people just seeking help with their water bills.
The program can now help more households across the Panhandle.
The cities now covered include 19 cities in the Panhandle and to apply for the program go online at PCSVCS. org
