The Randall County Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 15006 Grimes Circle Monday afternoon.

Once on scene, fire crews found a small barn with heavy flames and smoke coming from it and requested aid from the Canyon Fire Department.

The fire was brought under control just before noon.

After an investigation took place, it was found that the fire was caused by the charging system to the solar panels that were mounted to the roof of the barn.

Estimated damages were valued at $50,000.
