Randall County Sheriffs Promotions

Captain Hank Blanchard will be promoted to Chief Deputy. Patrol Lieutenant Jared Wirt will replace Blanchard as Captain over the Enforcement Division. Staff Sergeant Melvin Seymour will be promoted to Patrol Lieutenant, and Sgt. Allan Mongold will be the new Staff Sgt. in CID.
Chief Blanchard has over 35-years of experience in law enforcement. He previously worked for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission where he retired as the Captain over Region 1, and was then Coordinator of Law Enforcement Programs at Amarillo College from 2012 to 2019.
Captain Jared Wirt started in 2001 as a Corrections Officer with the Randall County Sheriff’s Office. Captain Wirt has promoted through several supervisory positions in patrol and CID before promoting to the Lieutenant over the Patrol Division in 2013.
Lieutenant Melvin Seymour began his law enforcement career as a 911 dispatcher in 1996 with the Randall County Sheriff’s Office. He then served in the Jail Division before transferring to the Patrol Division. While in patrol, Lt. Seymour was promoted to Sergeant in 2008. In 2010, he was selected to a post in the Criminal Investigations Division where he has served prior to his promotion as Lieutenant.
Staff Sergeant Allan Mongold has been with the Randall County Sheriff’s Office since 1988. In that time he has served as a Patrol Officer, a Patrol Sergeant, Departmental Range Master, and Criminal Investigator. Sgt. Mongold also spent several years assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force in Amarillo, Texas
