Rollover Accident on US 87 Claims Life Of Dumas Woman

A rollover accident claimed the life of a Dumas woman over the weekend.

DPS officials say around 2:30 Saturday morning, a 2003 GMC Sierra was being driven northwest on US 87 when – according the driver – he became distracted by the passengers 33-year-old Laura Arredondo. 

The driver left the roadway, skidding on its side before rolling across the opposite lanes of travel. Arredondo, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the the GMC Sierra and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was treated at the scene and released.
