Safety Tips for the Upcoming Halloween Holiday

With the month of October comes one of America’s favorite holidays, Halloween.

As we come closer to the spookiest night of the year here are some helpful tips to remember from the Academy of Pediatrics.

Plan costumes that are bright and reflective so that your children are visible to passing vehicles.

When shopping for masks look for a label that clearly indicates that it is flame resistant.

If a costume has an accessory such as a sword, cane, or stick-like parts insure that there are no sharp edges.

Tell your children to stay within a group, stay in well light areas, and always be on the lookout for cars when crossing the street.

One of the most important rules to follow when trick or treating is to always check your children’s candy.
