Semi-Train Crash

A train and semi-truck crashed Tuesday afternoon in Conlen.

Department of Public Safety officials say the crash happened near Highway 54 and FM 807 between Dalhart and Stratford.

According to DPS, a semi-truck driven by 48-year-old Rene Almenares-Durand of Dodge City, Kansas, was traveling south on FM 807 when he failed to yield to an oncoming train at a railroad crossing.

The northeast traveling train hit the truck, killing the truck driver who was pronounced dead at the scene.

DPS is still investigating.
