Semi vs. Pickup Crash Kills Spearman Teenager

According to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 16-year-old Spearman teenager was killed in a Monday afternoon car accident.
The crash happened around 2:24 p.m. when a 2013 Kenworth tractor trailer rig traveling north on SH 207 while the teen was traveling east on County Road DD, approaching SH 207 in a 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500.
The reports notes the teen failed to yield a stop sign at the intersection, placing him in the path of the semi, which struck the truck from the passenger side. The semi caught fire, the driver was able to exit on his own.
The 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Spearman ISD is offering grief counseling services at all district campuses.
