Sister City Dnipro, Ukraine-Amarillo

The City of Amarillo is considering becoming a sister city to Dnipro, Ukraine.

The discussion took place on Tuesday,October 11th at the City Council meeting.

The Founder of Amarillo’s Kind House Bakery wants to create opportunities to allow cultural, educational, and business exchange with the city.

The bakery has forged ahead with a relationship with Dnipro for several years, by sending over sending over needed supplies like medical and clothing to the people in the war zone.

The Mayor of Dnipro wrote a letter of appreciation the Amarillo for what the community is doing for the people of Ukraine.

A sister city, county, or state relationship is a broad-based, long-term partnership between two communities in two countries. A relationship is officially recognized after the highest elected or appointed official from both communities sign off on an agreement to become sister cities.
