The City of Amarillo held their State of the City Assembly Thursday morning to discuss the growth and achievements of the city in 2019.

Mayor Ginger Nelson talked about getting the Vet School funded, the new commercial laundry facility in the North Heights community, the Coming Home Project to help the homeless and the growth of Downtown Amarillo.

Compared to last year, downtown Amarillo has seen a 9% increase in sales tax revenue with Amarillo seeing a 3% increase overall.
