Stocks Open Higher Despite Weak Jobs Report

Stocks are opening higher despite a weaker than expected monthly jobs report. The Labor Department said the economy added 49-thousand jobs in January, slightly below forecasts. The unemployment rate fell to six-point-three percent. Wall Street is on track for its best week since November. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 were up about a half percent after the opening bell. The Nasdaq was slightly ahead in early trading.
