Stolen Gun Arrest

A nineteen-year-old man is under arrest for theft of a firearm.

Amarillo Police say an officer at 12:06 a.m. pulled up on a suspicious vehicle at Fulton and Danbury Street.

The vehicle was driving without lights

As the officer approached the car, he could see the driver reaching for the console and while talking to the driver could see a fully loaded handgun magazine.

The driver gave consent to search the vehicle and a handgun was found where the driver was reaching.

Police say the gun was reported stolen from an auto burglary March 25th.
