Catholic Charities has received a 12-thousand-dollar grant from the Texas Bar Association.

The money will be used for pro bono services.

Catholic Charities says the money will be used to help legal immigrants and refugees in Amarillo and the upper 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle who cannot afford attorney’s fees.

The Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $27 million in grants to law-related programs since its inception in 1965.
