Texas Panhandle Grass Fire Report

Randall County 

5:45 pm  – The fire is controlled. FM 168 between FM 2219 and FM 1062 remains closed due to the large number of fire fighting vehicles, but all other roads are now open.

4:30 pm – The Randall County Fire Department is currently fighting a grass fire in the County. 

Texas A&M Forest Service is reporting the fire is 300 acres and 10-percent contained.

Due to the high wind, this is a very dynamic situation, and units are aggressively working to control this fire. Please avoid the area and allow our first responders to do their jobs.

 

 

ROBERTS COUNTY FIRE

Crews are working a fire in Roberts County, near the intersection of FM 238 and Rankin Rd.

According to the Roberts County Sheriff’s Office, the Miami-Roberts County Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire.

There is no word on the size of the fire or if any structures are threatened at this time.

 

 

STINNETT FIRE

The City of Borger/Hutchinson County OEM, crews are battling a wildfire about five miles northeast of Stinnett.

Officials said the fire is not moving towards Stinnett.

Before the second fire sparked, an initial fire was reported near County Road K and County Road 4, which is northwest of Stinnett.

Crews are containing that fire. There are no reports of structures threatened at this time.

 

 

Lipscomb County Fire

Crews are battling a grass fire in Lipscomb County at Highway 83 and Highway 23.

According to the Lipscomb County Sheriff’s Office, the fire has jumped Highway 23.

 

 

Randall County

Fire is out on Arnot Rd.

 

 

Borger Fire

Final update at 2:47 pm: Roadway is being reopened. Some smoke may remain visible through the evening however the fire is contained*

The fire at 3rd and Florida is being reported as “contained”. Florida Street is closed from Wilson to 3rd as smoke continues to blow across the roadway and crews continue to improve upon their containment lines.
