Texas Tech Volleyball to Host Two Exhibition Matches

LUBBOCK, Texas – Before the start of the 2019 season, the Texas Tech volleyball team is set to take part in two scrimmages on Aug. 18 and Aug. 24 at United Supermarkets Arena.

Fans can get a look at the 2019 squad as the Red Raiders welcome the New Mexico State Aggies for a 10 a.m. match on Sunday, Aug. 18 before hosting Tech’s annual Red & Black match on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. Admission at United Supermarkets Arena is free for both scrimmages.

“We are looking forward to having New Mexico State come to Lubbock to scrimmage with us,” head coach Tony Graystone said. “They have a great program and are always at the top of the WAC, so it’s going to be a good chance to see where we’re at after a week of practice. It will also be the first chance for our fans to see us play and we’re definitely excited about that.”

Tech returns 15 experienced letterwinners, including All-Big 12 selections Emily Hill and Brooke Kanas, from the 2018 season while a group of six talented newcomers look to make an impact in their first season with the scarlet and black.
