Thanksgiving Day Drug Bust in Carson County

A woman is facing federal charges after a traffic stop lead to the discovery of 19 pounds of methamphetamine on Thanksgiving.

At 3:42 p.m. the Texas Highway Patrol stopped a Jeep with Chihuahua, Mexico tags for a traffic violation on Interstate 40 in Carson County.

The driver gave the Trooper consent to search the vehicle.

The Trooper was able to find the drugs in a small spare tire.

It is believed that the meth was being transported from the Mexican border to Oklahoma City.

The street value of the drugs was worth $870,000.
