The League of Women Voters Voter Guides Out For Proposed Amendments To The Texas Constitution

Voter Guides for the upcoming 10 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution has been distributed to 80 locations in Amarillo and Canyon.

The League of Women Voters distributes the non-partisan guides free of charge to the public that includes voting locations, dates and times, and election day centers.

The amendments include such proposals as banning a state personal income tax, assistance for water projects in distressed areas, and dedicating sporting goods taxes to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Texas Historical Commission.

Guides can be pick up in Amarillo at the Amarillo Public Library and its branches, United Supermarkets, City Hall, Potter County central jury room, Potter County tax office, Randall County annex, downtown banks plus the Herring Bank, Education Credit Union and its branches, Amarillo Senior Citizen Center, Wesley Community Center, Warford Community Center, Hilltop Senior Citizens Center, the Eat-Rite Health Food Restaurant, Fiesta Foods, and several coffee shops and senior living facilities. Amarillo College locations are the College Union Building on the main campus and the Auditorium lobby on the west campus. Others include the Amarillo and Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, the Thomas Creek Veterans Administration Hospital and Brookdale Medi-Park West.

In Canyon, locations include the Canyon Area Public Library, the Canyon News office, United Supermarket, Education Credit Union, election administrator’s office in the Randall County Financial Center, West Texas A&M University library and student union, Amarillo National and Happy State banks., and senior retirement centers.
