Tracy Hays’s New Book On Tragedy, A New Pet And Standing Firm In Faith “Dog Gone It”

As we go about our daily rituals we sometimes take for granted simple things like driving, working in our chosen careers and just tying our shoes.

A tragedy can make us reexamine and reflect on what some would judge as to the mundane tasks associated with day to day life that can result in small triumphs.

Tracy Hays and his family have battled back from such an event.

The man who provided for his family as a Certified Public Accountant has put out his first non-financial book called “Dog Gone It”.

It addresses a tragic mishap resulting in a Traumatic Brain Injury, battling back with the help of a new pup and finding a better understanding of God’s plan.

Hays spoke with me about the day that changed his and his family’s life forever.

The road back would be a long one, Hays spoke about TBI Traumatic Brain Injury.

Doctors told his wife Elaine that he had less than a 20% chance of survival and he may need care 24/7 for the rest of his life.

Four weeks in ICU at Northwest Texas Hospital, another four weeks at Baylor Rehabilitation Center in Dallas, then two months at the Pate Rehab outside of McKinney Hays had to relearn how to walk, deal with vertigo and how to swallow and he had a greatly diminished ability to read.

A  man who made his living by using his intellect Hays now suffered from Alexia a reading disorder caused by neurological damage.

A Christmas homecoming, a new sidekick and the reality of rebuilding his life Tracy Hays along with his wife Elaine and his entire family battled back to their “New Normal” with the daily help of a puppy named Sophia.

Hays had to rebuild his whole life after his Traumatic Brain Injury(TBI).

Walking, getting a new driver’s license filling out a tax forum and reading are just a few things he had to relearn.

His relationship with a higher power also needed to be redefined.

All the medicines and physical therapy did improve his condition but a puppy named Sophia played a major role.

A hounds howl helps him get a clear understanding of his new relationship with God.

Day by day Tracy Hays faces life with a new perspective and a renewed enthusiasm.

One motto he and his loved ones rely on. Q B K S…..Quit Bithcing Keep Spinning.
